The horrific Fani Cyclone, occurred during 26th April, 2019 – 5th May 2019, severely affected the coastal communities in Odisha. As a gesture of solidarity and being a Civil Society Organisation from neighbouring state West Bengal- ‘Sabuj Sangha’has made immediate relief response initiative to the affected Families at Satyabadi Block of Puri District in Odisha State.
Immediate required materials viz. Tarpaulins & Wax Candles were distributed. Thus, 1600 Tarpaulins (12 feet x 18 feet) and 1600 Wax Candles have been distributed by ‘Sabuj Sangha’ at Satyabadi Block on May, 2019. The Tarpaulin was the immediate requirement for roofing the Kuchcha Houses that were badly damaged during the horrific cyclone. The Wax Candles were required for immediate enlightening of household purpose during nights.
Local administration and Communities welcomed the gesture shown through the initiative and expressed that the relief demands many more such essentials. Thank you ‘ONGC’ for their genarus support for immidiate relief of the affected communities.
