Thank you very much for your continuous support to the needy children of Nepal through Patan CBR Organization. Till date you have given more than $37000 with more than 180 donations, Awesome Contribution!. I Hope this support will continue during the days to come

  • On 20 August 2022, Patan CBR had Annual General Meeting (AGM). All the Patan CBR staff, board members, students with disabilities with their parents and volunteers attended the AGM. The guests were welcomed by the students with handmade fabric flower bouquets. Those bouquets were made by Patan CBR students with disability in our ‘skill development’ unit. The bouquets were admired and appreciated by the recipients.

Besides this some developments in Patan CBR are described below;

  • The ground floor classroom, which is designated for students with severe disability who cannot climb the stair, was damaged by storm and heavy rain during COVID -19 lockdown. This room has now been renovated and re-painted. Similarly, other class rooms are also freshly painted.

 Patan CBR provided 7 students with regular medicine and 4 students with diapers.

  • The products such as beaded necklaces, earrings, and candles etc. that were produced in skill development unit by children with disability were displayed for sale for the visitors of Patan CBR.
  • In Nepal, Carers are not recognised in constitution and hence there is no social security payment for them. They are unpaid, invisible, unrecognized and unappreciated. Patan CBR along with other 16 agencies serving in disability sector has joined hands to advocate for Carers to be recognised in Nepalese constitution. The agencies have collaborated to provide a toll free line service for carer to call where they can get information on various Government schemes provided by the government to the disabilities, single women, senior citizens, the referral information; advice to right treatment at right place and connecting the carers, services provided by the partner organization; supporting the carer through expert level of counselling to motivate them spiritually, mentally and emotionally.
  • Many Patan CBR students have been coming to its day-care for many years and they do not have anywhere else to go due to lack of employment opportunity for them even they are eager to work. Patan CBR is planning to start a social enterprise employing youth/people with intellectual disability by training and starting a bakery to bake cookies and to sell them at the stores in a supported employment setting. Patan CBR is greatly motivated by a successful Japanese social enterprise called “Palette International Japan” where people with intellectual disability are working to make cookies and cake and the business is running successfully since 1985. Patan CBR is working to raise funds to initiate this project and your support is much appreciated.
