Lifers to take up public service activities
Dear Donors,
Ram (name changed) was one of the benefeciaries of the two-wheeler/automobile mechanism training conducted by New Life. At first, he was hesitant to join when called for the training. When we met him after the training, Ram said, "Thank you for showing me a new way. When I was locked up in the jail, I was much worried about my two children and my wife. Now, I got confidence that I can lead a decent living once I get out of these walls."
The inmates not only gained technical skills but also a new strength to cope up with the world, thanks to the counselling given to them. We thank you donors for making this happen.
Efforts are made by the Prison Department to direct the lifers with good conduct in a constructive way. And we have joined hands with them in this effort. Embarking on such rehabilitative acts would provide a healthy diversion for the inmates. The objective is to bring about a change in their mind set . Prison bazaars are also being run to sell the products made by the prisoners in both Male and Female Prison. Hence the trained prisoners can sell the goods produced by them. The money earned can be used in starting up their small ventures once they go out.
A small contribution from your side will help us imparting skills to the prisoners, which will rehabilitate them and in the longer run, pave the way to a crime free society.
Spread the word to your friends and relatives to make a change.
With regards
