Dear Donors,
27 women inmates of the Special Prison for Trichy were given training on the production of Vermi compost. They were given information on sourcing the raw material required, the process of producing the compost, packing techniques and the details on marketing outlets. They were also taught the price fixing method and the costs to be included while fixing the rate per kg. The inmates were involved in training right from the process of building the compost pit till reaping the compost.
80 Kg of compost was produced. The inmates were happy that they were taught a simple and low cost technology of the compost production. They can easily start this venture when they get discharged from the prison as the capital required for starting the production is less and the technology to be followed is easy.
We thank all the donors who have helped to conduct the training program by contributing magnanimously. Kindly continue supporting the project by spreading words about the project to your friends and relatives. Thus we can work together and contribute to a crime free community.
