The legend of Russian soccer and the world’s best goalkeeper Renat Dasaev led a workshop for children with developmental disorders.
Both boys and girls—together and individually—did intricate exercises with the ball, passing it around the cones and to each other, sometimes helping themselves with their hands. However, no one was embarrassed or nervous, because when the world-famous Mr. Dasaev held their hands, all these complicated tasks seemed doable.
The Football club “Spartak” and NGO Perspektiva organized the workshop as part of the project “Chidren in Motion: Together is Better”. Dasaev, who is now the trainer for Spartak Moscow’s reserve squad, came to the school together with the young goalkeeper Ilya Sykhoruchenko and the striker Aleksandr Yuryev. “It is a very good project. I believe it will not be our last workshop,” said Renat Dasaev before the start of the workshop, “Sports are as beneficial for these kids as for anyone else, because sports helps kids to develop, gives them more energy and good health…” Aleksandr Yuryev told children “They should never give up, and always do their best. He said that whenever he is on the playing field, he forgets all of his problems, and thinks only about the ball and the goal.”
