Can the Filipinos rid themselves of corruption?

By Daisy Arcilla Brett-Holt | Chairman/Project Leader

Fundraising is an enormous task that needs the support of the dedicated and the willing.

People had told me that reforming the Philippine’s judicial system would be an uphill struggle, full of heartaches, frustrations and personal financial loss.

I did not heed the advice of friends.  I carried on hoping that my country would be enlightened.

But recently, I was beginning to give up hope.

I felt this, until I returned to my country.  There I met people who embraced my vision for the need to change our corrupt judicial system.

One such person was Honourable Chairman Barry S. Gusi of the Gusi Peace Prize International.

At a chance meeting, our paths crossed. I did not realise that his advocacy for Peace and Human Rights and the Jury System advocacy of Filipinos in US and UK would complement each other.  Truly, nothing happens without a reason.

The supposedly devastating recent Super Typhoon Ruby did not materialise.

Thank God it did not.  But more importantly, it made me realise why the Filipinos, despite all their prayers for God’s intervention to heal our land, have not proven to our God Almighty that they deserve this grace from Him.

With Hon Barry S. Gusi, and a handful of Filipinos from different interfaith groups, we will be able to show to the worldwide Filipino diaspora that the country can arise from the existing depths of poverty and lawlessness due to corruption in all levels of society.

Filipinos at home and abroad might help us in whatever way they can; or they may remain onlookers whilst we transform our country.

Please watch the attached video which shows how the Filipinos can rid themselves of the corruption and the restraints that are holding us back: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzJ5G9fsHX9BcnhPNFZ4dEtwVjQ/view?usp=sharing.
