Be Connected is an annual program of events to reduce isolation and build lifelong friendships for young people aged 13-24 who are facing cancer. Giving the opportunity to connect when & wherever; overcome isolation and loneliness, reducing the mental health the impacts of cancer; to create strong personal connections with other young people who share their expenses; to have safe, non-judgemental space for open conversations and understanding. The program rebuilds confidence at a crucial time.
In the UK, 40,000 teenagers and young adults are currently living with cancer, with an additional 2500 facing a diagnosis each year, confronting immense physical, emotional and social challenges at a highly transitional time in their lives.
Teens Unite empowers young people overcoming cancer with evidence-led support that builds confidence, fosters connections, promotes well-being and improves education and employment opportunities. Informed by the lived experiences of those we support, ensures our events are tailored to their needs, creating a safe, understanding community where they can share, learn and embrace life beyond illness with strength and hope.
