This is the story of a young lady named Amina, who lives in the village Shehbaz Kali in Mardan. Three months ago, she gave birth to twin babies (1 male and I female). Her babies were born 2 months premature. Her labor began at home, and the 1st baby was delivered at home. The 2nd baby arrived 2 hours later, but was stuck in breech position. An rescue team rushed Amina over to HDF’s CHC in Mardan, where a Lady Doctor and Lady Health Visitor delivered the baby, who was fully cyanosed and near death. The baby was resuscitated, and both babies were shifted to a government hospital for incubation care. HDF’s labor room has helped complicated cases like Amina’s be treated either at the health clinic or they are referred to a tertiary care hospital in Mardan. Now, both babies and Amina are healthy!
Some preventative and curative services at the Mardan CHC include:
Health Education
Antenatal and Postnatal checkups
Growth monitoring
Vaccination for women and children
Some impressive achievements of this CHC include:
99% children in CHC Mardan area are immunized
98% Women of Reproductive Ages are fully immunized for TT
100% deliveries are attended by Skilled Health Personnel
100% children under 5 are monitored on monthly basis for their growth
