With your support we are developing COMMUNITY SCHOOLS that are spaces where mothers of children with nutrition problems attend to learn basic concepts about nutrition, adapted to their context, they know the causes, consequences and important advice on the accompaniment that children need for their nutritional recovery.
The preparation of recipes that each one can make at home is shared in a practical way, using products harvested from their gardens, which have been learned, planted and cared for through the COMMUNITY SCHOOLS of family gardens, which are also shared by FUNDENOR, the main The objective of these schools is that they can have other complementary foods for their family diet.
The participants use products that they have already started harvesting from their gardens and cook in a group with the guidance of the FUNDENOR technical facilitator. At the end, they all eat, including the children, and they can return home with a new idea and the learning of a nutritious recipe to follow children.
Although families have some vegetables and plants, women are unaware of the rich and nutritious forms of preparation of each vegetable or herb, most of their meals are beans, tortillas and soups, which many children reject for being repetitive every day. .
The participation of mothers in community schools is allowing variability in the preparation of their food, therefore it will also be possible to increase the intake of nutritious food in children.
