We have not been able to fundraise through GlobalGiving the funding required. We have nonetheless, made a donation of 500 USD to help two ngos in the effort.
Both Bomberos Voluntarios de Comodoro Rivadavia y Rotary Club from Rada Tilly (a neighbour city) have been helping organize the reconstruction of the city, as well as being first responders.
The city has been able to secure funding from the State and public services have been restored.
Some neighbourhoods have been more affected than others, so investment is targeted on a priority need basis.
It was one of the worst flooding the city has had in the last 60 years.
The storm delivered, last march, 154 mm of rainfall in one day.
Barrio Laprida was one of the most affected neighbourhoods
The city and the local universities did some research not only of the results of the storm, but also made suggestions related to the geographical setting and to prevent future disasters.
