Due to the lack of a proper disaster risk management mechanism, Pakistan has been hit badly by floods in the last 71 years of its existence. The floods not only wiped away the settlements of people and drained away people’s life possessions but also drained all their hope away by damaging the means of their living. The long term impact of the major floods of Pakistan in the year 2000 and 2010 continue to have a negative impact on the lives of Pakistanis.
Fatima Memorial Hospital has been working towards helping as many flood victims as possible within the available means. FMH has been involved in relief activities and disaster risk management since a long time. In collaboration with NUR Foundation, Fatima Memorial Hospital not only provided assistance in terms of basic necessities but also ensured that the flood victims are provided with education. FMH established a school in the flood ravaged area of Dera Ghazi Khan in Habit Mastui, a small village in the district to do their bit by providing education to the children who had been affected the most by the tragedy of flooding.
Even today, FMH continues its missions by reconstructing the villages and endlessly making efforts to re-establish the affected areas by providing education and basic necessities to the victims. The primary motive of Fatima Memorial Hospital and NUR Foundation is to serve the community and we are committed to help the victims of flood.
In order to cater to the needs of a large chunk of population which has been suffering due to floods in the past, FMH depends on the generous support by its esteemed donors. Hence, we call on all of you to donate as much as you can and help us rebuild homes and eventually give birth to hope in the hearts of the flood victims.
Thank you.
