Our dream of recovering our garden was possible through the donations we received. We reopened the Urban agroecological garden: “Calidad de Vida” a space for recreation and educational activities. This is an agricultural proposal in which young people fulfill the purpose of educating themselves in the art of cultivating the land by rescuing obsolete spaces in the center of the city of Caguas and transforming them in productive areas. This space will allow our students, as well as students from neighboring public schools, to have a safe place to develop agricultural skills.
As this new semester begins, students had Esencia Vital, our three-day workshop, return to their classes and participated in an assembly to define the school budget. In that activity, the youth discussed how Nuestra Escuela should expend the money. Students decided that this semester we need to focus on: human resources, facilities, the rebuilding process, insurance, school materials, transportation, food, among others.
There is still a lot of work to be done in the building, but thanks to your kindness, our kids and youth have a place for having academic and biopsychosocial services. Thanks to your support, our students learn social and finance skills for their lives. As a result of your donation, Nuestra Escuela keeps dreaming and creating safe spaces for young and kids from Caguas and neighboring municipalities. We are committed to childhood, education and the rights of children and youth in Puerto Rico and around the world. We want to thank you for support us! Gracias!
