Peace-making residence for 50 refugee teenagers

Since the project will take place only in July 2019, we have not had any financial costs yet. At the moment, we continue looking for funding for the project from corporate donors and European funds and continue developing the prorgram of the residence.
In April 2019, based on last year's art-residence for at-risk teenagers in Zeitz, we plan to stage the DOMINO play, which will be shown in Germany as part of the art residence of 2019.
The creative collaboration and making arts together is very effective in building bridges between individuals and communities. The experience of migration, losing family, difficulties of being a stranger are universal for all countries.

Our main activities within the international peace-making residence for teenagers in Zeitz in 2019 will include:

• Investigate the programs implemented in Germany relevant to these topics: social circus and theatre, adaptation of refugees and migrants, working with teenagers at risk;
• Make a network of allies working in the same field and interested in collaboration in Germany, Russia and beyond;
• Change the attitude towards teenagers from refugee families and help them to show their uniqueness and talents, establish better relations with their peers;
• Create a platform where teenagers in different life situations can exchange their ideas, express themselves and their opinion;
• Summarize the experience to be able to make a regular project that will grow into an annual creative peace-making residence for children and teenagers from all over the world on the territory of Zeitz. 

The main difference of our approach is the combination of creativity and humanistic values. We bring together professionals from different countries, each of them uses the unique experience of working with children and teenagers (including refugees and migrants) in their home country. Thus, we make the program more universal, going beyond the problems of only one country. The main tool of our work is the circus. Circus allows everyone show their talent and to interact with others as peers. By synthesizing the circus with other instruments we get a creative product or work-in-progress and show it in the region for citizens. The residence will change the attitude towards teenagers from refugee families and help them to show their uniqueness and talents, establish relations with their peers. In the residence children get important experience in communication, interaction and collaboration under the guidance of psychologists and teachers.
