The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a global nonprofit with a mission to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of young people all over the world. We believe that every young person, whatever their background, deserves the opportunity to learn digital skills. Through coding clubs, field-leading research, online learning and teacher training, we offer thousands of young people the opportunity to thrive in today's digital world.
In a world increasingly shaped by digital technologies, too many young people are growing up without the opportunities to learn how to create with technology. As the pace of technological development accelerates, more and more people are being left behind. That affects their job prospects, denies them the tools to solve the problems that affect them, and consigns them to being consumers of digital technologies, not active creators or agents.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation addresses these problems with 4 key program areas. We support the world's largest network of free informal computing clubs. We create free, high-quality online resources and projects, which millions of people use to learn or teach computing. We conduct original research and trials to deepen our understanding of how young people learn computing. We offer low-cost, high-performance computers and free software that are used in industry and education all over the world.
We aim to engage millions of young people in learning computing skills through a thriving network of clubs. We enable schools to offer students the opportunity to study computing and computer science, through providing the best possible resources and training for teachers. Our field-leading research will deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and to advance the field of computing education globally.
