Thanks to all of you, RASA has managed to raise 13,390 $ Approximately, Rs.8,97,000/-

Thanks to your continued patronage, RASA now has a EECO van which can transport about 7 individuals at a time.
Our Theatre Arts Learning Centres now have specially challenged individuals and adults We have children/adults who are able to reach RASA centres at Mandavalli, Greenways road and Tiruvanmyur at the right time, comfortably (between 10 am to 3 pm ).

Here is an example of how an adult with Downs Syndrome is benefitting from RASA and its activities.

P is an adult with Downs Syndrome. He is non verbal and comes from a low socio economic strata. He travels happily in the van provided to him by RASA. He also is able to come to the Theatre Arts Learning Centres on a daily basis to get inputs and also to pick up some vocational skills. This is ONLY POSSIBLE because RASA is providing the inputs free of cost . He is now leading a productive life and is active in all of RASA ‘s productions only because the training is provided for free.

The cost of the vehicle was Rs. 4 ,50,000/-. We now have a balance of about Rs. 4,45,000/- with us .
This amount we wish to keep towards cost of another facility for the disabled.

It is such an effort for a person with physical and mental challenges to get out and be mobile. Especially In India where we have not yet reached the international standards of Facilities for the disabled.

To attend to critical activities like going for a dental checkup, visit the nearby beach? Things that we take for granted regularly .
People with disabilities especially those who are in wheelchairs need a vehicle which can take care of their needs.
We require a special vehicle that will enable individuals in wheelchairs to be transported too.
We NEED to purchase a TATA VENTURE which is ideally suited for the above purpose and also make the necessary modifications in the vehicle so that wheelchairs can move easily in and out of it, with a foldable ramp.
The approximate cost of this is about 9 Lakhs.(including the modification)
MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE, NOT ONLY FOR THOSE WHO CAN MOVE ON THEIR OWN
