RASA - Inclusion and Empowerment

Thank You so much donors. Two of  you have made it possible for us to dream that RASA will have its van to transport individuals with special needs. We wish manymore can join us towards  achieving this goal of getting a brand new Van for Transport. 

It is summer time now and it is blazing hot in chennai. The group of individuals with special needs who come to RASA on a daily basis are on a break for a period of one month.

Then comes June when the group is back,  ready and eager to take in and enjoy the beauty of Indian Theatre. June is Monsoon time for many states in the Southern India but Tamilnadu does not experience too much of rain in this season.

Like we say there is only one season in Chennai... it gets hot , hotter and hottest. June continues to be hot but manyof the individuals attending our centre come back with renewed spirits and vigour. Their time to get out of their homes and 

experience the joy of Indian Theatre begins yet again. They look forward to the next few months of fun, activity and self discovery.

The weather does not help however. neither does the fact that these indviduals with special needs do not have a good mode of transport this year. They struggle, and brave the heat from which the van gives them a respite.

Take for example. Mr. S(Name not revealed). He is 18 years old, and is an individual with severe mental retardation with Autistic features. He has very poor communication skills and there is no way he can make it to the centre if the facility of a van is not provided. He comes from a family where the father has parkinsons and his mother struggles hard to take care of both of them. She has enough to worry about. 

Mr. S would not be able to get out of the house and move to any centre to get inputs if the FREE facility of pick and drop is not made available to him.  

Please join us in making sure that we get a new Van which will help transport individuals with Special Needs.
