During this reporting period, our Rashan Distribution project was primarily focused on families affected by devastating floods across South Punjab, Central Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat and Buner. These floods left thousands of families—particularly deaf persons and persons with disabilities—extremely vulnerable, with many losing their homes, livelihoods, and in some cases, their loved ones.
Through this initiative, Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF), with the support of generous donors and partners, reached out to flood-affected communities to provide essential rashan support. Meeting families who had lost almost everything was an emotionally overwhelming experience. Many had spent days without basic food supplies, struggling to survive under harsh conditions.
What made this work deeply meaningful was witnessing small moments of hope. A simple rashan package brought visible relief and, in many cases, a smile to faces that had endured unimaginable loss. For families with deaf members or persons with disabilities, this support was not just material assistance—it was reassurance that they were not forgotten.
This experience reinforced our belief that timely humanitarian support can restore dignity and hope, even in the darkest times. DWAF remains committed to standing with marginalized communities during emergencies and beyond, ensuring that no one is left behind when disaster strikes.
