BAZNAS is slaughtering goats and sheep to prevent stunting in Indonesia. One of the efforts is distributing dam and hadyu meat in the form of ready-to-eat processed meat to the general public.
The launch of this processed Dam meat distribution was conducted by the Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag), Nasaruddin Umar, at the Baznas office in Jakarta. The Minister emphasized that this distribution of Dam meat is not only a manifestation of transparent Hajj management but also part of a concrete effort to bring the broad benefits of the Hajj to the Indonesian people.
“Alhamdulillah, today we are making history. For the first time, Hajj Dam collected from officials and some pilgrims is reaching those in need across the country,” stated the Minister during the launch of the 2025 Indonesian Hajj Dam/Hadyu Distribution at the BAZNAS Hall in Jakarta (September 8, 2025).
According to available data, this year’s Dam collection comprised 8,447 sheep and goats, with a total value of Rp21.3 billion.
The collected Dam was then processed into 211,075 pouches of traditional Indonesian meat dishes, ranging from rendang, gulai, to curry. Each package, equivalent to 1 kg, contains 5 pouches of ready-to-eat dishes.
The collection of Dam 2025 exceeded the initial target by 211%. “Initially, Dam was intended for Hajj officials, but the enthusiasm of the pilgrims was so great. This demonstrates the high level of trust from the pilgrims,” explained the Minister of Religious Affairs.
For your information, these processed products from Dam were distributed to 42,215 beneficiaries in 7 provinces, namely South Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sumatra, East Java, Central Java, West Java, and Banten.
