31 teachers attended the first induction workshop for the Escuela Nueva model, in Cartagena de Chaira, (Southern Colombia) August, 13th - 17th. More than 400 students will benefit directly through a better performance on the part of their teachers.
This workshop was supported by local authorities and representatives of the Colombia Responde national strategy. Colombia Responde aims to establish a sustainable state of peace and security. Cartagena de Chaira was strongly affected by drug trafficking in the 1980s and it is now transitioning to new social opportunities.
The attendees to this first workshop experienced our educative model and learnt from its general principles, components, strategies, methodology and its appropriate implementation to achieve a qualitative improvement of rural education:
FEN wants to thank you for your donation. Part of this training was funded with your support. A higher quality education will offer new opportunities to young generations in Cartagena del Chaira. To complete the implementation of the Escuela Nueva model, these teachers need to receive two more training sessions. We also need your support to provide students with our Learning Guides. Please help us spreading the word! Share this project with your friends and family and become an Escuela Nueva Ambassador!
