It takes teamwork bringing together a wonderful synergy to accomplish our goals. The workshop with CCDO, complete with distribution of DFG Sanitary Kits, was fantastic. The kits were distributed to their 8th and 9th grade girls at TaPang school situated out in a rural area outside of Siem Reap, Cambod.
The CCDO Community Workers along with their Women's Health Coordinator, Sem Sovoan, did an outstanding job of explaining not just how the DFG Kits are to be used and taken care of but also all of the other important MHM training that includes the menstruation cycle, reproductive parts of the body, how babies happen, hygiene etc.
The Days For Girls Flip Chart has now been translated into Khmer by CCDO staff and Tnai Samrap Srey - ( DFG in Khmer) and the flip chart was printed and used at the workshop. Additionally, the translated DFG Flip Chart was printed as a smaller "take-home" version for the girls and also used to follow-along during the workshop.
Having a take-home resource was an idea to help bolster the training that they had just received and also a potential means for mothers and aunties at home to read and understand about DFG kits and Menstruation Health Management also.
Thanks to all donors who participated. We will soon be distributing the 6th and 7th grade students.
