Dear friends and supporters,
As part of the psychosocial services, SAO offers a variety of activities and workshops with a psychosocial focus at its two Day Centres for displaced women on Lesvos and in Athens.
People who have experienced threats, conflict and trauma can experience unhealthy to destructive behavioural consequences, even leading to self-harm. Psychosocial support activities and workshops encourage people to re-establish healthy routines, move and interact freely in a safe space and out of passivity, thus supporting recovery.
There are many ways to provide psychosocial support, e.g. through leisure and educational activities and workshops. In our two Day Centers, activities and workshops range from sports, such as yoga and Pilates, to art and crafts, such as painting, pottery, embroidery and sewing, to personal care, such as hairdressing or nail painting. There are no limits to creativity. The activities and workshops are carefully prepared by our professional staff. They take place in groups but clients also have the option to use the material provided individually ouside of group sessions.
Thanks to your support, SAO can offer displaced women in Greece activities and workshops with a psychosocial focus and therefore help them with trauma-relief.
All the best,
Zoé Roth
