SAO Association - The Importance of Case Management

By Zoe Roth | Fundraising Manager

Case Management
Case Management

Dear friends and supporters,

In this report we would like to highlight the importance of Case Management throughout every component of our programme for displaced women in Greece.

Case Management is a method to offer organised support to an individual client based on their specific needs and circumstances. It consists of assessing the needs of a client, identifying possible solutions and approaches together with the client, coordinating between the client and services and finally monitoring and evaluating the whole process in order to provide the best possible assictance to each client.

For SAO, Case Management is an essential service to support displaced women during their displacement and the arrival in their new home. SAO has a dedicated and well-trained Case Management Team at the SAO Day Centres on Lesvos and in Athens and the required connections to other specialised service providers. The Case Managers are professional social workers and psychologists that understand the Greek bureaucratic system, keep close track of any changes, and know the intricacies of Greek culture. They support displaced women in overcoming various challenges with regard to each clients individual needs and circumstances. Our Case Managers provide an interdisciplinary bridge between the clients and the services they need. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of the clients, the quality of care, and the interdisciplinary, efficient use of resources.

Through Case Management it is possible for SAO to ensure that our clients can make use of a psychosocial support programme of highest quality.

We would like to thank you very much for your support. With your help SAO can offer displaced women in Greece a safe place where they can receive support tailored to their individual needs.

All the best,

Zoé Roth
