YOUTHS LEADERSHIP AGAINST HIV-AIDS IN EXTREME NORTH CAMEROON
The EFA Cameroon network is facing the challenges of stayed leadership of its bureau members amongst the 10 youth associations fighting to eradicate stigmatization and discrimination against HIV amongst young person living with HIV/AIDS in the Extreme North of Cameroon.
In line with its partnership agreement with GlobalGiving and with strong engagements amongst youth associations, EFA Cameroon still wants to maintain and reinforce youth leadership especially amongst associations fighting HIV/AIDS in the Far North.
Because of this, EFA Cameroon has launched a campaign of re-dynamizing the different youth groups fighting the ignorance of this epidermie
L’Associations des Sympathisants du Secteur Gadola et Dogba en abrège « ASSYSGOD is the first amongst 10 youth associations fighting against HIV/AIDS benefited from the support of global giving funds and with EFA expertise to support the organization of transparent elections in order to renovate and reinvigorate its executive bureau.
With regard to material support, ASSYSGOD wishes to continue with its rural work as usual, the members have given as a personal contribution a field of one hectare of land with their own labor for the cultivation of red millet in this early season of rain. And in support of the youth association EFA Cameroon has provided in kind materials and inputs that can enable them to facilitate and buster their agriculture.
Amongs the materials that were given we have 05 cutlasses
Among the materials and inputs that were delivered, we have machetes (05) parts, seeder (05) parts, fertilizer (01) bag, urea (01) bag, rake (02) parts, seed (10) cups, hoe (10) parts, sprayer (02) parts, Roundup (10) sachets, empty bag (10) bags, needle and string (01) piece; This is to allow the realization of their community millet red field project.
As far as EFA expertise is concerned, vis- a – vis youth associations, EFA staff participated in organizing general assembly which had as objective to renovate executive bureau members. Old members kindly hand over to new members to continue with the management of ASSYSGOD. What was accepted, voted, and applauded by all. Thus, the president who gave so much to ASSYSGOD handed over his chair to the benefit of a young academic. Both remain strongly committed to the cause of anti-discrimination, stigma in their community with regard to youth and HIV-AIDS.
The genral assembly meeting with the presentation of participants and visiting partners who followed the debat concerning the re-dynamising the association. The election of the new executif bureau member consist of:

Former President (Hammandjoumma):I thank EFA very much for this great surprise we though for some time that they have abandoned us because of the problem of insecurity. Notwithstanding we remained together and strong by attending our meetings and house visits. Each of us have developed and follow of income generating activities thanks from what we received from EFA. I find the idea of renovating the bureau members excellent because that was what was needed. I engage myself to provide support and my experience to the president and to all my collaborators who need my help for the proper functioning of the organization. I will be totally available for EFA
New President (SALIHOU):"I agree and am very proud to be the new president of the association, I would do my best for the proper functioning of the association while organizing meetings with members so that everyone can contribute ideas; to raise the awareness of the population so that it integrates the association by presenting to them the good achievements and benefits that the latter can bring; I also agree to fully collaborate with former members of the board to benefit from their experience. Thanks to AEFA for all its assistance to us and my wish is that it continues to train us by organizing seminars as in the past ".
