FOCUS OF THE PROJECT: This project aims to provide food and non-food supplies to 200 documented (legal resident) immigrant households, improving their quality of life and reinforcing their path toward stability and inclusion. GOAL OF THE PROJECT: Providing food packages (rice, lentils, oil, canned goods, etc.) to 200 documented immigrant families, and also distributing essential non-food items (hygiene kits, baby supplies, seasonal clothing, school supplies) to 200 documented immigrant families.
Many documented immigrants across Northern Ohio struggle with: Food insecurity: Rising costs and limited eligibility for public assistance leave families unable to consistently afford nutritious food. Lack of basic household essentials: Items like hygiene products, baby supplies, school materials, and seasonal clothing are often out of reach for low-income immigrant households. Limited access to support services: Language barriers, transportation challenges,/Many work for low wages.
This project provides direct, tangible relief to documented immigrant families who face food insecurity and lack access to basic household essentials. Here's how it works: Immediate Relief Through Essential Goods Monthly food packages will ensure families have access to culturally appropriate, nutritious staples-reducing hunger and stress. Non-food items like hygiene kits, baby supplies, school materials, and seasonal clothing will restore dignity and meet urgent daily needs.
Improved Health and Well-Being Regular access to nutritious food and hygiene items reduces chronic stress, malnutrition, and preventable illness. Families experience greater physical and emotional stability, allowing them to focus on work, education, and integration. Household Stability and Economic Mobility By offsetting basic living costs, families can redirect limited income toward rent, transportation, legal fees, or savings. This support helps prevent housing insecurity.
