TEODORO´S GILDRED RESIDENCE TESTIMONY

I am 82 years old, I have lived in the Teodoro Gildred Residence for almost 10 years, belonging to the Bringas Haghenbeck Foundation.

The RTG has been like an angel for all of us who live here, because we have had love and protection, we feel at home, we are warm and loved here. All of us, some of us have family and others, like me, we do not have anyone, but we are all older adults, who already have many things in our lives and we are here with more people is a blessing.

The Residence offers us, not only love, it also offers us, we cover our needs, from the days, we help our personal hygiene, we take care of our health and we have our clothes clean every day. I do not know how many good things I have done to live here!

Without a doubt, the RTG is our salvation. I am sure that if they did not exist, I and many of us would be living in the streets. And we all know it, that's why we live here happy, grateful, happy and satisfied. For us, for me and for my friend Fanny (Resident also of the RTG), the RTG is the most beautiful thing we have. If they will not exist, my peace and tranquility would not exist either. They are important, they are very valuable and I wish with all my heart this Institution for thousands of years, because I am sure that many like me will need it. I would like to help them and be part of this beautiful work, I can not for my health, but I will always thank them for everything they do for me.

Not only do I appreciate your service and quality, I also appreciate the love, affection and patience that all the staff have with me. I love that the Chef comes out to greet us, that the director greets us, that the nurses always leave their problems outside, here they always come happy, cheerful and eager to take care of us. They are patient, very patient and although we are sometimes rude, they love us, protect us and provide for us. The staff of all the RTG are angels and deserve to live happily.

The people who live in this Residence are here because we need it, some who have family can not be cared for, because they do not know how to take care of them or do not have the time. Others who do not have anyone are here, precisely because of that, because they know us alone and they cover the family role that human beings need. We need you, Mexico needs many places like this, before I came to live here I took care of old people, I joined you because I fell and I lost independence, but I saw out there like many adults They lived alone and abandoned, locked in their rooms , looking at a window and with the light off, without company, eating when someone had time to take care of them and surely there are many like this or in worse conditions. Here the loneliness is over. Fear stays outside. Here they will take care of us and feed the soul, because that is what we need.

Here we grow, we improve, there are some who go depressed, cry, get angry, I can not walk, I did not move my right arm, little by little with the support of the nurses, with rehabilitation and so much love and batons, I can now walk , leaning on my walker, this is my walker because when I arrived I had a loan, I can walk around, go with my friend Fanny. Move around And mainly, I can say that here is my family. I have been an orphan since I was two years old, so I had never felt happier than now. My life took a turn and I am happy. Thanks to all who live here because they are part of my life, thanks to the employees for smiling every day, thanks to the volunteers who without expecting anything in return give us their time and thanks to those who do not see but who work very hard for all of us.
