With support from friends like you, NYF’s vocational training program addresses the systemic problem of unemployment in Nepal, helping to break the cycle of poverty and creating lasting change for generations to come.
In addition to our Vocational Education and Career Counseling Program which serves about 300 young people annually, last year, NYF built its own Vocational School as a part of the new Olgapuri Children’s Village. Scheduled to open in 2018, the school will train 320 students annually in trades that offer gainful employment such as carpentry and welding. Underprivileged young people will receive free training and counseling.
In a country where unemployment is high and where child labor, child trafficking, and homelessness is common, vocational training offers a life-transforming path to economic independence for young people and their families.
Your support makes a tremendous difference. Thank you for donating to NYF’s Vocational Training and Career Counseling program.
