Chander: Back in Action

Dear Supporters,

Greetings from NBJK!!

We started our journey on Global Giving with the aim to restore vision of 1000 poor cataract blind people and and extremely happy to reach the half way mark with the kind support of generous donors like you. We have successfully conducted 500 cataract operations and have restored vision of all the marginalised population we have catered our services under Global Giving, also we are satisfied to say that we are been able to restore vision of around 10,000 cataract patients in the last reporting year i.e., 2015-16. This all has been possible with the trust and unceising support of generous people like you.

Out of the many beneficiaries, Chander was one of them. He was leading a difficult life sufferng from cataract since last 2.5 years but was helpless as did not know how to get better due to his financial situation. He is a marginal farmer and grows on a small piece of land. He has four sons and all of them are married except the younger one who lives with them and supports him in his farming work.

Life was difficult due to poor eye sight and vision was deteriorating day by day. One day his son came to know about the Eye Screening Camp being organised bu us in their nearby vilage and brought his father there. He was diagnosed of cataract in his left eye and was immediately brough to the hospital in the hospital van for operation: With proper pre tests he was successfully operated the next day on 14th December, 2015 and Chander was discharged from the hospital with instruction of regular follow-up.

With two regular follow-up visits Chander is fine and can see clearly now. He is extremely grateful for the support and says "I believe in humanity and good deeds now, I hope there are more such good people who can support people like me in need. I will inform more people in need regarding the great work carried by you people so more needy people can benefit".

Receiving such feedback inspires us and helps us realise we are moving in the right direction. Please keep supporting us in our efforts towards making a bright and colourful world for as many people as we can.

With Regards

Shweta Sinha
