With the aim to contribute towards the World Vision 2020; NBJK successfully established two Eye care hospitals in the remote rural villages of Jharkhand, India in the year 2005 and 2008 respectively. The two hospitals aim to provide quality Eye care services at affordable, subsidised and free cost for the rural population who did not have access to eye care services.
Since its inception, the Hospital is a blessing for the thousands of underpriviledged people who were going blind without any intervention due to poverty and lack of intervention in the area. Today, NBJK caters eye care services to 50,000 people every year in the remote rural areas by conducting Village Screening camps at their doorstep. All the patients are examined by a qualified doctor and if diagnosed of cataract are brought to the hospital and are treated free of cost with proper pre and post medication.
Tetri, was also suffering from cataract like many other people until our Village Screening Camp was organised in her village. She was suffering from cataract since last 1 year but could not afford her treatment due to poverty. She came to know about the camp and attended it. She was diagnosed of cataract in her left eye and was brought to the hospital for further check-up and surgery. After proper pre check-up she was successfully operated on 18th February, 2015. Today, she can see clearly and is very happy for the kind support. She can take care of herself and even look after her family.
The two Eye Hospitals are a ray of hope for rural poor people who are going blind every year due to poverty. The patients in the area who have restored their vision express their sincere graitude towards the hospital and also create awareness regarding eye care to other people in need.
Your kind support is helping us to reach more people in need. Please keep supporting as always our work to restore vision of needy and poor people. We wish to contribute towards elimination of avoidable blindness by catering services in the poor, remote and inaccessible places.
Thanking You
With Regards
