Pemiya, 75 years, is an old woman who belongs to Karma village of Koderma district. For her this new year is filled with hope and happiness. Though she is 75 years, she is still working tirelessly everyday in a Brick kiln factory with her son to support her family. She hardly makes Rs. 80-100 everyday; so is her son. They are running their family smoothly and are satisfied.
Until last year, Pemiya was facing problems due to her poor eyesight and was unable to get herself treated in their small income. She also got hurt and injured during working hours due to her poor eyesight. Also, due to the dust in the factory her eyesight was deteriorating every day. She and her son could not save money for any emergencies in their meagre income. The situation worsened during idle seasons when the brick factories are closed during the part of the year. They borrow money from their neighbours and relatives to feed themselves.
NBJK managed hospital conducted a Screening camp in the remote village where Pemiya was diagnosed of cataract in her right eye. She was worried about the treatment cost as she did not have any money. She was informed to be operated without any expenses and was brought to the hospital in van. She was admitted for a day and was successfully operated for pre and post medication on 25 november, 2014. She can see clearly now and is working like earlier to support her family.
She is very happy and expressed her gratitude towards the kind support.
With your kind support we are able to restore vision of the needy and poor who were always left behind. Please keep supporting in future as well to restore vision of the needy.
We express our sincere gratitude towards your generosity and helping the one in need.
