Fudan is 53 year old Carpenter, who earns his livelihood by making wooden doors and windows. He lives in a small village called Pandaha, which comes under Godda Block of Dumka District in Jharkhand State.
Fudan is the bread earner for his family, as his children are still studying and are in search of job. He faced problem in his eyes since last year 2020, his vision was blurring and he was not able to do the work after sunset. Due to blur vision, he was facing great pressure on his eyes and use to get headache during working hours. It was difficult for him to continue work for longer. And this was affecting his daily earning.
He visited a local doctor and was diagnosed with cataract; he was suggested to go for surgery immediately. But due to COVID and poor financial condition of the family, he was unable to afford the cost of surgery. He then went on an eye screening camp organized at his panchayat level. From there he got referred to LNJP Hospital Dumka. There he got immediate services and surgery without any cost. All his costs were provided by the support of GlobalGiving.
He is happy now and can do all his daily work without any problem. His vision acuity has improved. He is thankful to GlobalGiving for their kind support for such poor rural patients.
