Eyes are one of the most important sensory organs in the human body which help us to view our surroundings, but when these eyes are affected by cataract the whole world begin to look blur and gradually become disappear due to loss of vision. In our society, there are so many people who are living a very pitiful life due to low eyesight and blindness. People living in cities are educated are very much aware of cataract. But people who live in remote areas or villages and have no knowledge about the cataract, and very few who knows does not have enough money and information to reach out to right place. Most cataracts grow slowly, and occasionally the vision loss has actually progressed over a long time in one of the eyes but it is not noticed by the patient as it is covered by the other eye which was fine at the moment covering for the affected eye. 

So there’s nothing like having eyesight and receiving the gift of sight with your support. With your support, we are trying to reach more needy people who have lost their eyesight due to cataract and provide them a new vision for making their life easy and independent thus giving them a new life.

Bhikhan got support from your donation

Brief Description:

Bhikhan is 62 years old poor man and stays alone. He has three sons. All are married and live separately. Bhikhan used to do labour work for his surviving, but due to cataract he was unable to work. He didn't have any another source of income and unfortunately his sons don’t take care of him. They hardly give money to him. After losing his vision he was losing his hope to live.

But one day our camp organizer organized a camp in his village. One of his (Bhikan's) neighbors took him in the camp where cataract was detected in his right eye. Our camp organizer told him about free surgery in eye hospital with the support from donation through Global Giving. Bhikan got free transportation facility to reach the hospital and underwent a successful surgery which returned his vision. He is very happy and said, “As a father, I worked hard for the upbringing of my children but they did not support when I needed. NBJK and donors through Global Giving helped me to see again. I will always be obliged to all of them.”
