Respected Supporters and Well Wishers
Heartiest Greetings from NBJK!!
Eye care is one of the greatest public health challenges for the 21st century. Millions of people worldwide suffering from unnecessary blindness, more than half are due to cataract – which can be surgically treated. Most of these people live in the developing world, where poor nutrition and limited access to eye care can mean a life limited by needless blindness. Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra is doing great work to remove the cataract from poor villagers’ eyes in Jharkhand by spreading awareness programme, organising camp and providing free cataract surgeries and all of these things are not possible without your support.
Putul started work again
Putul is a 48 years old woman. She lives in Andipur village of Dumka district. She lives with her husband. Her husband name is Khare. He does nothing due to ill health. Putul has three children, two sons and one daughter. All are married. Her sons work in the town and they don’t live with Putul. Putul is a basket weaver. She weaves bamboo baskets and sells those baskets in the local market to earn two-time bread. With the money, she earns from selling the baskets, she uses to take care of her husband and herself. She was facing the problem of low vision for three years but due to the poor economic condition, she could not do anything. She was unable to do her work properly so it was very difficult for her to arrange two times meals. One day she heard the camp announcement and went to the camp organised by LNJP eye hospital of NBJK. There she was diagnosed with the cataract in her both eyes. Our camp organiser told her about the free surgery in LNJP eye hospital. Camp organiser took her at LNJP eye hospital, Dumka. First, her left eye operation was done successfully then after sometime her right eye operation. Now her both eye sights are good. She can see properly. She is very happy as she has started her weaving work again. She is very thankful to LNJP hospital team, donors and global giving for their generous support.
We express our sincere gratitude toward all of you who support our community people.
