Warm greetings to all our supporters and well-wishers
Some years ago, we heard the heartfelt stories of three grandmothers who lacked a secure place to call home. These elderly women were frail but full of hope. One of these grandmothers had surviving relatives willing to care for her on the harsh condition that she leave her grandchildren and household behind—a choice she couldn’t make. Tragically, she passed away in 2017. However, we are grateful to report that her grandchildren now have a secure space thanks to the support we garnered through this platform.
In Uganda, countless grandmothers bear the enormous responsibility of caring for grandchildren orphaned by the devastating HIV/AIDS epidemic. For these families, a safe, stable, and secure home is a fundamental necessity.
Through concerted efforts, we were able to secure funding to build one house, providing a stable and secure environment for one grandmother and her family. This success proves that we can achieve more. We believe we can fulfill the wishes of the two surviving grandmothers, granting them a dignified life in the twilight of their years although funding remains a significant challenge in reaching this goal.
With one of the grandmothers no longer with us, the urgency to secure the remaining two homes has never been more critical. These homes are not just structures; they are sanctuaries for families struggling to survive amid immense hardship. Without them, these grandmothers and their families face continued insecurity and instability.
We urgently appeal to our compassionate supporters and potential new donors to help us revive this project. Now more than ever, these grandmothers and their grandchildren need your help. Your contributions will directly impact their lives, providing the shelter and security they desperately need. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving these families a safe place to call home.
Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of these resilient grandmothers and their families. Let’s unite to provide them with the homes they deserve. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
