Sun Guardians Grant Program
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, Melanoma Canada's Sun Guardians Grant Program is helping protect children across the country from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) exposure. The program provides camps, daycares, community centres, recreational facilities, and other youth-serving organizations with essential sun safety resources and education, ensuring that children and youth have access to the protection and knowledge they need to enjoy the outdoors safely.
In 2026, donor support has enabled Melanoma Canada to provide sun safety resources to 34 organizations across Canada, including 16 camps and community swimming pools, as well as 18 childcare, early learning, and food bank programs. Together, these initiatives have helped protect and educate more than 4,700 children about the importance of sun safety and skin cancer prevention.
Every contribution helps extend the reach of this program, empowering communities with the tools and education needed to reduce the risk of skin cancer and create safer outdoor environments for future generations.
