We are so excited that at last we have TURNED OFF the Kerosene Lamps in Karatu District on 20th Nov. 2016. This was a ground-breaking event attended by thousands of people and covered by about 10 Journalists from National TVs like TBC, ITV, Star TV, Radios, Magazine, etc.

Before the public address, students from 6 different schools made demonstrations/parade throughout Karatu Town to proclaim the celebration of TURNING OFF the Kerosene Lamps in Karatu District. This was a symbolic event benchmarking the end of OLD TECHNOLOGY of using Kerosene and BEGINNING of new era of using solar lanterns in Karatu District.

In total we have reached 1,750 school children in Karatu. Our plan is to IMPACT 10,000 children within 2017. The future of this project is brighter with serious commitment from various GlobalGiving donors like the lady in London (we keep her anonymous) who contributed up to GBP 1,000 in single donation that was also matched by 50% bonus from GlobalGiving. In fact we raised more than GBP 13,000 in single fund-raising season of few weeks that ended in Oct 2016.

With time, we are witnessing serious engagement of our partners and supporters world-wide. We are convinced for sure that the TIME HAS COME to end kerosene poisoning in rural Africa. Solar lanterns are increasing the convenience to students and academic improvement.

THANKS for your IMPACT. Please let us know how you would like to be involved at higher level, as you wish.

We are open-minded to partner with you - the need is so big with more than 20 million kids living in rural Tanzania. They all need light for study.

THANKS FOR YOUR RELENTLESS SUPPORT
