Solar Lantern - MADE IN TANZANIA

MADE IN TANZANIA

Previously, we were importing solar lanterns from abroad, but now WE MAKE IN TANZANIA. The solar lantern that is made abroad is expensive and hard to repair when it is broken. Also it does not encourage creatively for our future African scientists (beneficiary school children). So we have decided to make our own solar lantern MADE IN TANZANIA.

In partnership with Dr. Hong K. Choi from Solar Mission in Tanzania, we are now scaling-up the piloted project of MAKING SOLAR LANTERNS IN TANZANIA. Through GlobalGiving (Click here) OR another channel of your interest, we humbly invite you to extend your support for this initiative, as your end-of-year GIFT to remember young Africans who are rising up socio-economically!

The project of Making Solar Lanterns in Tanzania at the Gongali Empower Community Center which is adjacent to Edith Gvora High School in Gongali village opens entrepreneurial opportunities to school children and local entrepreneurs. The center is owned by Gongali Model Co.Ltd and therefore is made available for FREE to school teachers and children for solar lanterns fabrication. The center is selected since it has facilities like TV for training and 800 W solar power for soldering the solar lantern, while the school has no those facilities.

Our immediate plan is to enable five (5) teachers and fifty (50) students to attend a one week workshop on preparing one hundred (100) handmade/homemade solar lanterns.

With your generous support through GlobalGiving we will make this dream a reality.

THANKS for becoming our partner.
