In our continued effort to eliminate period poverty in Uganda, our Lucky Girl Pads, an initiative, successfully produced and distributed eco-friendly sanitary pads to 1,560 schoolgirls across Northern Uganda. Alongside pad distribution, we conducted comprehensive menstrual health education sessions that included girls, boys, teachers, and parents fostering open dialogue and understanding around menstrual health.
These sessions not only equip girls with knowledge and confidence to manage their periods with dignity but also build supportive school environments where boys and teachers become advocates for menstrual equity. By reducing stigma and absenteeism caused by menstruation, more girls are staying in school, performing better academically, and envisioning brighter futures.
The economic impact extends beyond the classroom local women are trained and employed in the production of Lucky Girl pads eco-friendly pads, creating sustainable livelihoods and contributing to economic empowerment and gender equality in their communities.
“Now I don’t have to miss school because of my period. I feel confident and proud to be a girl,” shared Grace, a 14-year-old student from Amuru District.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and partners whose generous support made this possible. Your contribution is not only changing girls’ lives—it’s shaping a generation of empowered women and supportive communities.
Together, we can reach even more girls.
A donation of $10 provides a girl with a year’s supply of pads and menstrual education.
Join us today—empower a girl, transform a community.
Thank you!
