Empowering Girls Through Menstrual Health Support In many parts of Northern Uganda, menstruation is not just a biological process but a barrier to education for countless girls. The challenges of accessing proper menstrual hygiene products, combined with the stigma surrounding periods, often force young girls to miss school or drop out entirely. VACNET supports girls with menstrual health resources, providing 3,980 girls with free sanitary padsdistributing a total of 382,080 pads across the region.

One of the beneficiaries, 14-year-old Amina, used to miss several days of school each month during her period because she couldn't afford sanitary pads. Like many girls in her situation, Amina was embarrassed to ask for help, and her education began to suffer. However, after receiving free sanitary pads through the program, Amina no longer worries about missing class. She attends school consistently and can focus on her studies with confidence.

Amina's story is just one of many. The provision of sanitary pads has made a remarkable impact, allowing girls to stay in school and concentrate on their education. As a result, school retention rates for girls across the region have improved significantly.

By removing the barrier of menstrual hygiene challenges, you are not only helping girls complete their education but also fostering a future where young women can thrive without the stigma or disruption caused by their periods.
