Scovia's inspiring journey unveils the harsh reality of period poverty in Uganda, where 70% of adolescents miss out on education. She recounts missing crucial days of classes due to the unavailability of sanitary pads, resulting in the setback of repeating a class. Facing isolation and restrictions from her parents, Scovia navigated the challenges silently.

Enter the HPI team, a beacon of hope. Not only did they provide Scovia and her peers with monthly sanitary pads, but they also addressed their health concerns, offering answers and support. Empowered by this newfound knowledge, Scovia's excitement radiates as she shares the success story of 80 girls from Labongali Primary School. Passing their exams marks the gateway to secondary education, fueling Scovia's confidence in achieving her dream of becoming a doctor.

In heartfelt gratitude, Scovia extends her thanks to VACNET for being a catalyst of empowerment in their community. She recognizes the pivotal role of education in women's empowerment, emphasizing that the journey starts with the education of girls. Scovia's story is a testament to resilience, support, and the transformative power of breaking barriers to create a brighter future

Your generous donation enabled our team to produce and distribute 7,680 sanitary pads to 80 girls and conducted menstrual health education in schools. We look forward to continues this revolutionary journey with you.
