Kirina Becomes Electrified!

By Ryan Kranz | Donor Relations & Outreach Coordinator

Solar panels installed in Kirina
Solar panels installed in Kirina

Thanks to the amazing generosity and work of Lighting Africa and Gary Dourdan, Kirina now has electricity! As pictured above, the electricity is powered by solar panel installations on the rooves in the village. These enable the team at the École de Musique de Kirina to power laptops, lighting, and other equipment for their students.

We would also like to share with you a video of the advanced djembe students rehearsing for a stage performance! Watching them play in a call-and-response way is so much fun. If you would like to see more from the École de Musique de Kirina, check out their Facebook page!
