Eureka! So our Facebook page has about 12,400 members.

So many young people are getting information from social media. As a way to reach out to young people on social media such as Facebook with sexual and reproductive health information and service, we created a Facebook page titled MyQuestion and Myanswer and have been providing sexual and reproductive health information and counseling.

The good news is we have about 12,400 adolescents and young people in our Facebook community with over 4680 new members in the last 3 months. This means that our target of 10 000 members on facebook by the end of the year have been exceeded by 2400 new members and counting. We have reached about 38790 people with sexual and reproductive health information througn out Facebook post and other activities. Our daily post reaches an average of 770 young people. About 36% of our fans are females and 67% are males. Most of our fans, about 67% are young people between the ages of 18-24 years. This is to say we are not just providing information to just anyone  but we are reaching the almost 50 million young people age 10-24 in Nigeria faced with many challenges to their sexual and reproductive health.

In reaching out to adolescents and young people on Facebook we carry out different activities such as daily informative and educational post,  case studies that allow fans to share their views and interact with other members of the group. Through this we are able to help correct wrong notions and provide accurate answers to sexual and reproductive health perceptions.

AskWednesdays is another way with which we engage with our fans, it gives adolescents and young people opportunity to ask personal questions and have one-on-one live chat with a counselor.

What is more interesting about the Facebook page is that apart from our fans receiving regular Facebook post on sexual and reproductive health and relationship information. The Facebook page  is linked to the Mobile Question and answer Platform which enable our fans to send their questions from their Facebook page through the Facebook message icon directly to the Mobile Question and answer Platform,  to get confidential and anonymous sexual and reproductive health information and counseling.

See what young people are saying about the Facebook page

" I am Mustapha from Kebbi State, I actually like this page ( MyQuestion and Myanswer ) and I take the responsibility of sharing what you post. I love you because of your response to friends and answering their questions "

" MyQuestion and Myanswer service I love your service and I pledge my full support "  from Beatrice

Feedbacks such as these make us understand that our fans are receiving satisfied responses that will help them make informed decisions. We have been able to go this far through your support.
