By Saundra Williams | Executive Director
Dear Friends of RHL,
Your gift has been critical in keeping the coronavirus out of Foya and Kolahun Districts, rural areas in northwestern Liberia where extreme poverty would make the pandemic catastrophic if it were to run rampant.
Francis Forndia, Foya-Borma Hospital's Executive Director says, “We don't have enough words to thank you for this worthy initiative for the people of Foya District and its close neighbors. All we can say is that God will bless you and all those who contributed their hard-earned resources.”
Your support has purchased supplies for hand hygiene and continuing education for hospital staff on Infection Prevention & Control, among other basic, yet essential needs. Because of your support Foya Hospital has had the capacity to monitor the temperature of 4,873 people over the past four months and ensure that every person entering the grounds wore masks and washed their hands.
Mr. Forndia reports that “as a result of the vigorous temperature taking ongoing at the entrance of the hospital, fear of contracting COVID-19 in our Nurse screeners has reduced. Also, the number of patients coming at the hospital is increasing gradually despite the challenges.”
So far, COVID numbers remain low in Liberia and no new cases have been reported at Foya-Borma Hospital or Kolahun Hospital during the past two months.Thank you for your generous contribution to ensure that Liberians are spared yet another catastrophe.
Investing your dollars in COVID prevention in rural Liberia has saved lives. Thank you for taking action.
With gratitude,
Saundra
