Rose is two years old and lives in Kitta community with her parents. Her Father sells petrol and her mom is a stay home wife. Rose and her parents do not make proper use of the LLINS given to them and this makes them prone and vulnerable to recurring malaria infection. During home visits, the CHW consulted Rose after her parents complained of a persisting fever which has lasted 24 hours and calms down after administering Paracetamol and giving her a cold bath. Rose was suspected for malaria and was immediately tested with an RDT. Results confirmed simple malaria. The CHW administered free medication for treatment. He also sensitised her parents on how to administer the medications, the proper use of LLINS and other methods of malaria prevention. After one week, Rose was in full recovery. Her parents expressed their gratitude to the GlobalGiving crowd funding platfrom for relieving the burden of going to the health facility and incurring the cost of consultation, testing and purchasing medications for Rose. They are satistfied beneficiaries of the GlobalGiving project in Kumba.
