Dear Patron, Namaste!
Warm Greetings from RSKS India......
The narrow lanes of the slum settlement were once filled with silence, hunger, and tired eyes of children who often slept without proper nutrition. But on the day Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) organized the “Poshan Pathshala” initiative, the atmosphere transformed into a vibrant celebration of health, learning, and hope. More than 500 children from over 15 slum communities gathered with excitement alongside their families, carrying not just empty plates, but dreams for a healthier future. Their smiles reflected the power of compassion when communities and humanity come together for change.
At the heart of the program was a unique Nutrition Cooking Class where mothers and children learned to prepare healthy and affordable dishes using sprouted soybean, lentils, green gram, chickpeas, and other nutritious foods. The aroma of freshly prepared nutritious meals filled the air as children eagerly tasted the healthy recipes made especially for them. To strengthen their nutrition further, every child was lovingly served eggs and milk a simple meal for many, yet a rare blessing for these underprivileged children. For several children, it was one of the few times they experienced a balanced and protein-rich diet with dignity and joy.
The RSKS India team transformed learning into an engaging experience through colorful flipcharts, educational cards, and interactive discussions on the importance of nutrition, hygiene, and healthy eating habits. Children listened attentively, answered questions enthusiastically, and discovered how small daily food choices could protect them from illness and help them grow stronger. Parents, especially mothers, expressed emotional gratitude as they realized that nutritious food does not always require expensive ingredients, but awareness, care, and community support.
As the program concluded, each family received dry nutrition packets containing sprouted grains so they could continue practicing healthy eating habits at home. The happiness on the children’s faces while carrying these packets symbolized more than food it symbolized hope, dignity, and a brighter tomorrow. Through “Poshan Pathshala,” Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan did not merely distribute nutrition; it nourished confidence, awareness, and the belief that every child, regardless of poverty, deserves a healthy and hopeful childhood.
With heartfelt gratitude and warm regards,
Team RSKS India
