Provide Fresh Start for a Single Mother in Serbia

The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation launched the Single Parents Support Program in order to improve the lives of single parent families who are living in vulnerable circumstances and poverty conditions. Our first goal is to provide a way to help Alexandra and her three beautiful children to find a way out of the cycle of poverty. Our main goal is to purchase a fully furnished village house with a garden for this extremely vulnerable family in order to provide them with a secure living environment, free from potential abuse, hunger and desperation.  

With the support of 77 individuals and 95 (one-time/recurring) donations, we have raised $6,945 so far. Additionally, one donor family decided to provide continued support for this family and began donating a monthly stipend of $70
to Alexandra and her children. This money is being spent on necessities such as food, hygiene and school kits.

Owing to the support received, and the confidence gained, Aleksandra and her children left their two-room dilapidated shed with no bathroom or running water, to find another temporary accommodation. They will now be safe from the abuse of their previous landlord and have a healthier living environment, until sufficient funds have been collected for the purchase of the village house. Feeling a sense of security and knowing that she is not alone, Alexandra now looks brightly into the future.
