Summary

300 children from displaced families who lost their homes during the war now live in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. Most of these families are from the destroyed city of Bakhmut and are forced to live in dormitories, shelters, or rented housing. This project provides monthly food and hygiene supplies for these children. Parents receive essential support once a month through the local displaced families' community center.

Challenge

Many displaced families arrived in Vinnytsia with no belongings or savings after their homes were destroyed in the war. Food prices have risen sharply while incomes remain low. Much of family income goes to rent and utilities, leaving many parents unable to fully provide for their children. Over 180,000 internally displaced people now live in Vinnytsia, and local resources are limited. International aid reaches only the most vulnerable.

Solution

The project will provide displaced families with children with monthly food packages and basic hygiene supplies. Parents will regularly receive essential products for their children. This support will help families ensure stable nutrition for their children, reduce financial pressure on household budgets, and allow parents to spend their limited income on other basic needs. It will make families less vulnerable during the war and give them a sense of dignity and real support.

Long-Term Impact

Regular access to basic food and hygiene supplies helps displaced families protect their health and dignity during the war. When parents have consistent support for essential needs, they can use their limited income for other priorities such as medicine, education, clothing, and safe living conditions for their children. This reduces the risk of poverty, supports families' adaptation in the community, and helps them rebuild stability and independence over time.
