Dear Friends and Supporters of Global Family Village Nepal,
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to you all for your support to our orphans and abandoned childcare project entitled “Home and Community for Orphans in Nepal”.
We are extremely happy to inform you that the children living in Bungamati Family House (BFH) have been shifted to a “New building”. The new building was constructed for the children living in BFH and named as “Bungamati Family House” building. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the individuals and organizations that have generously contributed financial and technical support to Co-operative Society of Bungamati (CSB) for the construction of this building.
An inauguration ceremony of the new building was held on October 16, 2017. The ceremony was participated by several donors who contributed financial support in the construction of the building. On the occasion, one of the major contributors, who has travelled all the way from Germany said, "I am so happy and feeling so proud and honored for supporting in the construction of the building, which is dedicated to the orphans and abandoned children in Nepal".
The building is five-storeyed, consisting of two bedrooms, one study room and one toilet on each storey. On the ground floor of the building, there is a meeting room, a library and a computer lab. A child who has been living in the family house for over last five years said, “Studying has been very comfortable for us as we have a separate study room with tables and chairs. And this building is much better compared to the previous one”.
The construction of a new separate building for orphans and abandoned children is a rare and unique physical facility available in Nepal. It also guarantees the sustainability of community-based care of orphans and abandoned children implemented in Bungamati by Cooperative Society of Bungamati in partnership with Global Family Village Nepal.
Namaste!
Kishor Shrestha, Country Director, Global Family Village-Nepal with Ms. Shreeja Tuladhar and Sabin Sapkota, GFV-N Interns
