Junior Achievement of Northern New England (JANNE) is deeply grateful to all our donors to the GlobalGiving Campaign.
The JANNE GlobalGiving project was to deliver entrepreneurship programs to 300+ students in kindergarten-12 grades. We are pleased to report that, in the 2013-2014 academic year, JANNE has surpassed this goal, reaching more than 41,000 students through more than 2,200 volunteers.
Through its proven learning model that unites successful volunteers from the business community with students, Junior Achievement programs enhance current school curricula by teaching financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship to students in grades K-12. This proven approach opens doors for mutually-benefitting mentoring and positive relationships that empower students and strengthen schools and communities.
What we must remember is that the JA experience can be as equally rewarding for our school partners and volunteers as it can be for the students we serve. Please take a moment to read this testimonial from a JA school representative:
“For the last decade, Junior Achievement programs have been a tremendous supplement to my high school economics classes. Both JA Company and JA Titan offer relevant and meaningful opportunities for student-centered learning and authentic assessment. My students have thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on nature of the programs and the technology components. These programs have helped encourage several of my students to pursue further degrees and careers in business, as well as helped to engage some of my harder-to-reach students.”
