Dear friends,
Warm greetings from the Smart Osvita team, and thank you for being with us on this journey.
In this reporting period we want to sincerely thank each of you who donated to our project. Your support, no matter the amount, is meaningful and powerful.
We are happy to share that, thanks to the combined efforts of several fundraising sources, we are now preparing 20 new Chests for Shelters that will soon be delivered to frontline schools in Ukraine. Your donations through GlobalGiving are part of this process - and will directly contribute to equipping these Chests.
At the moment, our team is actively working in the office: selecting, sorting, and packing materials for the children. We’ll soon be on the road, delivering them to shelters where children spend many hours every day due to ongoing attacks. We'll be sure to report back with photos and stories once the deliveries are complete.
In parallel, we continue communicating with schools regularly to assess their evolving needs. Based on this feedback, we’ve improved our approach:
We no longer prepare one universal Chest for all ages - instead, we now tailor the contents based on children's school age and developmental stage.
Younger kids receive more sensory materials, toys, and comforting items.
Older children receive logic and social games, creative kits, and age-appropriate books.
This way, every Chest becomes more than just a box of materials - it becomes a carefully crafted space of emotional safety, joy, and stimulation for children living through war.
We're excited to share a photo of the many materials currently in our office, waiting to be packed - it’s just a glimpse of the love and care that goes into every Chest.
A reminder: we work with schools located in frontline and high-risk regions, where children are forced to spend a significant part - and sometimes almost all - of their school days in shelters due to the constant threat of shelling. These spaces are no longer temporary; they’ve become everyday classrooms, and they must feel safe, supportive, and emotionally nurturing.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Every act of giving brings light into these children’s lives - and helps us build safer, warmer, more hopeful spaces beneath the ground.
With gratitude,
The Smart Osvita team
