Dear friends,
Thank you for standing with us and supporting our project “Chests in the Shelter.”
Your donations continue to make a real difference — not just by sending resources, but by shaping better spaces for children living through war.
Over the past few months, we’ve been actively talking to school principals, teachers, and local partners. These conversations led us to rethink and upgrade the design of our Chests. Instead of a universal solution for all ages, we’re now tailoring the contents more carefully — by age and developmental needs.
For example:
This new approach makes each Chest not just useful, but truly relevant to the children it serves. It’s a small shift that creates a big impact.
All donations received during this reporting period are now directed to a new set of Chests for a primary school in the Sumy region — a frontline area where children spend a large part of their day in shelters rather than classrooms. These children urgently need spaces that support not only learning, but emotional safety and resilience.
Let us also kindly share one of the success stories of the Chest using. One of the most heartwarming examples comes from Okhtyrka, a city just 30 km from the russian border. There, a Chest found its new home in the Antonenko-Davydovych Lyceum — and became part of a beautiful transformation.
The school team initiated to create a cozy reading corner in the library, where children come to read, dream, and feel safe.
Games and materials were carefully placed in the shelter — organized by age, so every child could find something engaging during long hours underground.
This is exactly what our project is about — not just delivering things but creating opportunities for joy, learning, and emotional safety for children living through war.
Thank you for helping us create spaces where children feel seen, supported, and safe — even in times of war.
Your support means the world!
With gratitude,
NGO Smart Osvita team
